African Economic History has been dedicated to exploring the economic history of the African continent in depth. This magazine not only focuses on the colonial history of Africa, but also covers a wide range of periods from prehistoric times to modern times, aiming to provide readers with a comprehensive and in-depth perspective to understand the economic development trajectory of Africa. The establishment of this magazine benefited from a close collaboration with the Harriet Tubman Institute for African and Diaspora Studies at York University, which provided the magazine with abundant academic resources and research networks. The Journal of African Economic History is not only an important forum for academia, but also provides valuable information and insights for policymakers, educators, and the general public.

The editorial board of the magazine is composed of internationally renowned experts in African economic history, who ensure the academic quality and broad academic perspective of the magazine.
