這里介紹幾種人物對話描寫的常見形式：

一、說話人在前，語言在后

這是最基本的也是最常見的形式。例如“老子說：‘你就是仲尼啊，聽說你要來，我就在這里迎候。研究學(xué)問你不比我差，為什么還要拜我為師呢？’”（《孔子拜師》）。這種形式的對話，“說”字后面用冒號。

二、語言在前，說話人在后

這種形式的人物對話描寫有加強語言效果的作用。例如“‘我為你們?nèi)齻€人的健康喝了三口。’她微笑著說。”（《幸福是什么》）。這種形式的對話，“說”字后面用句號。

三、把一次說的話，分成前后兩部分來寫，中間交代說話人

這種對話，語言跳躍感強，富有波瀾。例如“‘別的事？什么別的事！’彭總電閃雷鳴般發(fā)作了，‘還有比守住你們的陣地不讓敵人的炮彈把你們的陣地掀翻更重要的事嗎？……’”（《在炮兵陣地上》）。這種形式的對話，“說”字后面用逗號。

四、只寫人物語言，不寫說話人

這種對話，語言具有連續(xù)性，現(xiàn)場感強。例如：
